Tevvon Hines (b. 1998) is an American filmmaker employing narrative storytelling as a means of surveying fear, shame, and morality through fiction and fantasy. Originating from Dallas, Texas - he spent much of his adolescence moving throughout the Southern United States, cultivating an affinity and advocacy for representations of Black culture and history within art & media.
His artistic practice utilizes the short film format; a visual playground where he is able to write, produce, design, and direct independent narrative films. His short film Nightfall (2023) screened for audiences at festivals and gallery exhibitions across Texas and central New York. His master’s thesis film, bitter/sweet, is a fantasy short starring his younger sister, Trinity, premiering in 2024.
Tevvon is finalizing his MFA in Film at Syracuse University, where he is also an instructor in filmmaking; teaching and advising first-year students in the College of Visual and Performing Arts
